This is a picture taken from on top of the Potala Palace in Tibet. The Potala Place is an enormous monastery build for the Dali Lama to live in during the winter. We climbed all the way to the top and this was our view. Hundreds of cities and villages built at the bottom and in between huge mountains that covered the horizon.
The Potala Palace is half red and half white, with each wall decorated, which is why I love this picture so much. The bright colours of the wall so high up in the mountains in the middle of dark dusty land. Adds a lot of contrast and depth to the picture, which is a nice change from all the portrait shots.

it is beautiful and I can see why you love this photo. You are really talented Steph
Hey, I saw this but forgot to leave a comment.
The building looks pretty. Kind of wish I could see more of it. But the mountains in the background, all faded and curvy, also look cool and I want to see more of them, too. Haha. Maybe that’s why they’ve both got their own half of the frame?
I’m going to add your blog to PhotoBlogs.org and we’ll see if that doesn’t get you a few more views. If only temporarily. But if you post regularly, I’m sure it’ll keep up :)
