I took this picture…15 min ago. I came home today to find my mother making dinner. She was cooking her meatloaf quite proudly, while she was munching on some pea pods. And like the vegetable freaks me and my mother are, I dug into the bag myself. I then opened one pea pod that was nearly perfect, all its peas in a perfect row, on one side and getting smaller as the pod grew shorter. If you have ever opened a pea pod, most of them are on one side, a few on the other, some are big and small in arbitrary areas. So, as you can imagine, finding a perfect pea pod, my natural instinct was to take a picture.
I wanted a black background to make the green of the pods stand out. I grabbed my old Grade 8 graduation booklet, used for our grad pictures. I unfolded it and leaned it against my cupboard in my bathroom. I used two lamps, one in the front and one to the side, and a flash with a home made soft box on it. Haha, the soft box was a little rough looking, but got the job done.
My final shot was successful, and the pod was garnished with another empty one, hope you like it!

Very nice, dude. I'm still not entirely sure how you've gotten the background completely black straight out of the camera… Especially with two lights on them, and them sitting directly on the drop… Witchcraft, I'm sure.
On a side note, I've stolen the full-size version to use as my wallpaper. The green goes well with XP's blue :)

Umm, well the black ground was showing a bit on the RAW image, but when I increased the contrast and brightened the photo up a bit, the tiny area of pale black disappeared. I don't know how I originally got the background and wall to show up seamless, luck I guess.
