Welcome back!

This was a long hiatus I know. For those who didn’t know I went to Disney World! Wooo. It was really fun and hot, thanks for asking. Well as you know the previous picture was used in my Ryerson portfolio (which by the way, I am supposed to get a letter from them early May, so fingers crossed) and this week I will be showing you my THEMED section of the application. My theme was movement. I paired each liquid with it’s appropriate solid and took a picture of the exact moment it hit the liquid. This one was martini and olives.

I used a regular black towel as my background and used water to play as my vodka. It would have been one expensive photo shoot if I used real alcohol, because as you can imagine I didn’t get it right the first hundred times. I used a standard 55mm lens and flash. I used the flash because I liked the effect if the light rays bunching off the water and glass. My brother Ryan stood above the camera and dropped the objects in when my camera went off. Now, I was supposed to have my shudder go off multiple times, that would have made this process a lot easier and shorter. But, the only time I could do it was at night since my days were filled with classes and exams, so I needed the flash. And you can’t use a flash on rapid fire, well at least mine, unless they came out with some sort of super flash. Anyway, 4 grueling hours of dropping food in bowls and cups, we got the final shot:) This was one of them. Enjoy.
